Text Message Terms
Who texts you, what about, how often, and how to stop.
The short version
- Virterra Assistant LLC texts you only if you checked a text message box on our form, or to answer a text you sent us.
- Agreeing to texts is optional. You can ask for a test call without it.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop. Reply HELP for help.
1. Who sends the texts
Virterra Assistant LLC, a small business in Menomonie, Wisconsin, that sets up and runs a virtual receptionist for local small businesses. These terms cover texts that Virterra Assistant itself sends to business owners and their staff. Our texts come from DRAFT: our business number, set up in the trial. You can call the same number. The first text in a conversation names Virterra Assistant.
2. How you sign up
On our test call form there are two separate boxes, one for non-marketing texts and one for marketing texts. Both are optional and both start unchecked. You can check one, both, or neither, and still send the form. Giving us your phone number does not, by itself, sign you up for texts.
If you text us first, we reply to answer you. We do not add you to anything else because you texted us.
3. What we send
Non-marketing texts, if you checked that box
- Test call scheduling and follow-up
- Appointment reminders
- Demonstration messages
- Customer support replies
- Account and service notices
Follow-up means practical details about your test call. It does not include offers or sales messages. Service notices are about a service you already have with us, such as a setup step or an outage. News about new services is marketing and goes only to people who checked the marketing box.
Marketing texts, only if you checked the separate marketing box
- Special offers, discounts, and service updates
Some texts are written and sent by automated tools, and replies may come from our AI virtual assistant. It says it is a virtual assistant, and you can ask for a person.
4. How often, and what it costs
As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. You will receive a varying number of messages, depending on what you have asked us for. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.
Most people get a few texts around a test call or a meeting. Clients may get more while their service is being set up. Marketing texts, for those who asked for them, are occasional. We do not charge for texts.
5. How to stop, and how to get help
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text "STOP" to DRAFT: our business number, set up in the trial. After you send the SMS message "STOP" to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at info@virterraassistant.com or DRAFT: our business number, set up in the trial.
The easiest way is to reply STOP to any text from us. You can also tell us in your own words by text, email, or phone. A STOP reply takes effect right away. A request made another way is handled as soon as a person sees it, and always within 10 business days.
6. Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7. Sharing and privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
If you have any questions regarding privacy, please read our privacy policy: https://virterraassistant.com/privacy
8. Who can sign up
You must be 18 or older and the regular user of the mobile number you give us. If you change or give up your number, please tell us.
9. Texts from a business that uses our service
If a local business that uses our service texts you, that business is the sender, and its own terms apply. Reply STOP to that message to stop texts from that business. These terms cover only texts from Virterra Assistant itself.
10. Changes
If we change these terms, we post the new version here with a new date at the top. We do not start sending you a new kind of text without your consent.
